Abstract

Background. Resveratrol is a naturally occurring polyphenol that provides an anticancer activity against various types of tumors. Its clinical usage is limited low bioavailability and rapid metabolism. The research purpose was to study the effect of resveratrol and its new synthetic analogs A3, A5 and A6 on the viability of mouse fibroblast L929 by MTT-test.
Materials and methods. The cells were incubated during 48 h then added the studied substances, from the maximal concentration of 800 μM with the subsequent titration 1:2 to the minimum concentration of 3,125 μM. The exposition time with substances was 24 hours. The assessment of fibroblast survivability was carried out by a standard method of the MTT-test.
Results. According to the results of MTT-test A3 analog maximally reduced fibroblast survivability in the concentration 50-200 μM; A5 analog – 400 μM and 800 μM, A6 analog – 200-400 μM.
Conclusions. The studied analogs showed the anti-proliferative action comparable to effect of resveratrol. The average IC50 value of resveratrol on this cell line by the results of MTT-test was 39 μM, A3 analog –25 μM, A5 analog – 194 μM and A6 analog – 57 μM.
